Sardines and rotten eggs

So I went back to the RGIS office and took a two-part exam. The written exam was the easiest! Nobody would fail this because its more of basic Math and a lot of common sense. Even a sixth grader could easily passed it! The machine test was more like a 10-key data entry practice. Their machine which they call it Audit was pretty much like a very huge keypad or bulky calculator of sort. The blue color Audit caught my attention.

The trainor was a Russian lady, or maybe a Czech, about 5'2", with a traditional Russian accent. She gave us instuctions to key-in some dummy merchandise shown from the wall. It was very easy that a caveman (no pun here)can do it! Out of 20 applicants, there were like 15 that passed from this basic math skill test. When the training was over, me and all the rest of the new hirees on that day were immediately given some stores to start with. The trainor was impressed on my skills that she told me I could start with some small grocery stores right away.

She gave me and Ron the same stores because I don't have a car yet at that time. Besides I just got here in Washington barely a month. So, I realized later that a reliable transportation is very important with this kind of job.

When we went home, Ron MapQuested the stores we are scheduled to go. "I know this particular store" he said. "It is famous for expired beef franks, frozen meat, century-old fish and rotten eggs I always go there many times." I thought that was creepy, but why the hell he's going back to that store. Then he continues, "My girlfriend works for that store, what do you mean?" I just smiled.

On the contrary, I began to entertain the thought that this is not the kind of inventory jobs I would like to expect. In fact, from the beginning of my training, I was told that I get to count stores such as Sears, Fred Meyer, Target, Macy's and all those fancy stores with well-ventilated, nice looking environment. But now, I am about to be thrown to a grocery store that is famous for rotten eggs and tomatoes!

Man, I'm out now, and I won't show up to this store! But on the other hand, I need some money. Good money.
