The unprecedented growth rate for the last 12 months prompted some big players in the retail industry such as eBay, Amazon, BestBuy, etc., to invest millions in acquisitions and software development. The latest acquisition was eBay when it bought RedLaser from Occipital in June. Right now, there are literally dozens of these apps that are available as free downloads, or for a small fee.
In my previous post, I made a short list of these apps but I did not attempt to rank them as I would do now.
Thousands of reviews have been published with varying depth. Industry experts and end users agree that there are only handful of them that stood out and are worthy of serious consideration.
