Unemployment Rate Improves?

Some believed it is improving, some do not. According to a recent data, national unemployment rate improves by a fraction. As of September last month, it improves from 10.10% in September last year to 9.60% this year of the same month.

But US job openings and  hiring seemed to remain pretty much the same this year although there will be a slight surge in the last quarter as evidenced by the seasonal job opportunities and shall remain to linger until the holiday is over.  Being said that, hundreds of thousands of workers are affected by massive layoffs especially in the States of California, Florida, Pennsylvania, New York, Texas and Wisconsin.

But if Congress extends the federal unemployment benefit program when it convenes again after the midterm elections, then about 1.2 million workers who have been laid off will benefit it in the next few months.  We hope the economy and employment get better next year.
